IMPORTANT INFORMATION – RABIES TESTING – TEMPORARY CHANGE OF SUPPLIER
Our normal Rabies testing Laboratory – Biobest – is required to shut down for a facilities upgrade which is expected to take up to 15 weeks. In order to maintain a rabies testing service during this time, we will be redirecting all rabies testing to the only other testing facility in the UK – APHA.
Please be aware that turnaround time is likely to be longer than usual. APHA have a standard turnaround time of 20 working days but they may see a higher test volume than normal and also have a brief pause in testing over the festive period, so longer turnaround times may be seen.
We would recommend, where feasible, sending in samples as soon as possible. APHA do not offer a fast track service for rabies. Testing during this time period will require the use of an APHA submission form – please contact us for a copy.
Last date for samples to be received at Finn for sending to Biobest: Monday 25th November 2024.
All samples received after this date will be forwarded to APHA.
Although this unexpected situation is beyond our control, we are dedicated to doing our best to deliver a seamless rabies testing service for you. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you require any further information on 01379 854180.
Thank you for your continued support.
